5 Beauty Resolutions For 2016

“New year, new me.” By now your social media news feeds have been saturated with these statements from everyone setting their New Years resolutions. This year set resolutions that you will actually stick to. Here are 5 ways to dramatically improve your beauty and health for 2016.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is key to staying healthy. When we deprive ourselves of water you are directly effecting your entire body. Lack of water can cause your face to look tired, dry, and lifeless. Water gives us energy to do our daily activities. If you don’t drink your recommended water intake you may be experiencing excessive fatigue. If your planning on making the gym part of your New Years resolution, than do not skip out on staying hydrated.

2. Keep your face clean.

Many people only cleanse their once a day, usually before bed. However, it is important to clean your face in the morning as well as at night. It is essential to wash your face twice a day as it helps your face look fresh, keeps pores clean, and reduces the amount of dirt and oil.

3. Wash your makeup brushes, regularly.

Day after day we put our makeup brushes through a lot. Makeup, oil, an dirt build up on the brushes every day. We may not realize this because they don’t necessarily look dirty. Think about how much makeup you put on over the coarse of a month, then think about how much makeup is stuck on your brushes. Often times, dirty brushes lead to breakouts. 4. Deep clean & moisturize hair, weekly.

Between hot tools, products, and hair dye, our hair is being damaged every day. Build up on your hair causes hair to become dry, unmanageable, and lifeless. This can be dramatically reduced by using a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove excess product that are sitting on your hair shaft. Following a clarifying shampoo, use a deep conditioner to keep your hair soft and smooth.

5. Stop engaging in damaging activity.

Binge drinking and smoking is terrible for your body. Not only is it extremely dangerous on your organs and other insides, it takes a toll on your physical appearance as well. Binge drinking a smoking causes a myriad of different problems from cancer, to pre mature aging, loss of teeth, and yellow skin. If you take part in these activities, stop now! Your future self will thank you.
